DAY 01: DEPART NORTH AMERICA

Evening departure from North American gateway. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board the transatlantic jet.

 

DAY 02: ARRIVE DAMASCUS

Upon arrival in Damascus, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

 
DAY 03: DAMASCUS

A full day tour in this Omayyad metropolis, also considered as one of the oldest cities in the world. Sightseeing in Damascus includes the great Omayyad Mosque, first constructed as the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, the tomb of Saladin, the " Street Called Straight", the House of Ananias, the Window of St Paul, (where the Apostle was lowered in a Basket to escape), the Mosque of Sultan Selim, Azm Palace and the Oriental Bazaars. Stop for a panoramic view of Damascus before dinner.

 
DAY 04: JERASH/AMMAN

In the morning leave through Deraa and Ramtha to Amman. As we begin our journey, we stop for a view of the town of Deraya on the Damascus highway, where according to tradition, Paul was struck blind by a vision of the Lord. At the border is Edrei, the city of Og, king of Bashan. Stop at Jerash on the hills of Gilead, the best preserved city of the Decapolis. Visit the remains of the Roman temples, hippodrome, street of columns, the forum, and the basilica. Continue to Amman for dinner and overnight.

 
DAY 05: PETRA/AMMAN

Early morning departure for Petra driving on the King's Highway. From Wadi Musa, a half hour horseback ride reveals the Rose-Red City, half as old as time. Lost to human knowledge until a hundred years ago, it is now available to explore with all its beauty. Visit the Treasury, street of columns, and the amphitheater. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

 
DAY 06: AMMAN/TIBERIAS

Depart Amman this morning to the Allenby Bridge for crossing into the West Bank of the Jordan River. After crossing, drive to Jericho to visit the old town, view Mount Temptation, and the site of Canaanite Jericho destroyed by Joshua and Elisha's Fountain. Stop by the shores of the Dead Sea. Time will be given for those wishing to wade in the salt encrusted waters. At Qumran, visit the site of the Community Center of the Essenes, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Drive the Jordan valley route to Tiberias, with a stop at the River Jordan.

 
DAY 07: THE GALILEE

Your day begins with a visit to Mount Beatitudes, revered by Christians as the sight where Jesus preached his immortal Sermon on the Mount and Tabgha, the chapel dedicated to the feeding of the multitude. A short drive takes you to Capernaum visiting the area where Jesus lived, the House of Simon Peter and the Synagogue. Visit Tiberias before boarding a motor-launch cruise that will take you across the tranquil Sea of Galilee. A devotional service can be held aboard the launch. After a time to rest and relax our motor coach takes you to the Golan heights, and brings back to the hotel for dinner.

 
DAY 08: TO JERUSALEM

Depart Tiberias Cana to visit the site dedicated to the first miracle of Jesus - the transformation of water into wine. On to Nazareth to visit the town of the boyhood of Jesus. At Megiddo view the ruins of the Chariot city. On to Mount Carmel, and the Muhraqa, place of sacrifice, where Elijah challenged the priests of Baal. Drive along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea, the provincial capital of the Roman procurators. Visit the ruins of the fortifications, moat, harbor, amphitheater, water aqueduct. At Joppa visit the old town. Continue to Jerusalem for dinner.

 
DAY 09: THE HOLY CITY

Morning worship service at the Garden Tomb before driving to Bethphage. Drive to the top of the Mount of Olives located on the eastern side of the city for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the chapel of the Ascension, the Church of Pater Noster, Dominus Flevit, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Nations. A short six-mile drive brings you to the hillside town of Bethlehem. Drive through the Judean Hills to Bethlehem. Visit the Shepherd's Fields, and then the Church of the Nativity in Manger square, built over the birthplace of Christ. See Rachel's Tomb on the way back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

 
DAY 10: JERUSALEM

This morning begin a walking tour of the Old City where a thousand and one sights and sounds greet you. Visit the Pool of Bethesda, Ecce Homo, the Lithostrotos. Walk the Via Dolorosa, the traditionally accepted route that the Lord took on this last journey to Calvary. Continue to the temple area on Mount Moriah. Visit the Dome of the Rock erected in 691 around the rock upon which Abraham is believed to have intended to sacrifice Isaac. Both Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple stood here. Leaving the temple area, visit the Wailing (Western) Wall before continuing to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Leave the Old City through the Jaffa Gate. In the afternoon drive down the Kidron Valley to see the Pool of Siloam and Hezekiah's tunnel. On to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room, Tomb of King David, the Dormition, the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu and the remains of the House of Caiphas where Jesus was held in a cell dungeon before his crucifixion. View Hakeldama, the Hill of Evil Council and the city of David. Continue to tour the new part of Jerusalem, and Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. Return to the hotel for dinner.

 

DAY 11: MOUNT NEBO/AMMAN

Morning departure from Jerusalem through the wilderness of Judea to the Allenby bridge. Stop first at Bethany where Mary, Martha and Lazarus lived. See the Inn of the Good Samaritan. After the bridge crossing, drive to Mount Nebo from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. See the map of Jerusalem in colorful mosaics at Madaba. Back in Amman visit the royal capital of the Kingdom of Jordan including the Roman Theater, and the citadel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

 
DAY 12: AMMAN/NORTH AMERICA

Transfer to the airport for departure to North America. The close of your unforgettable pilgrimage to the Land of the Bible, bringing home - with you , memories that will last for a lifetime.
